Who Do You Think You Are?

Principle: Who I think I am determines what I do.

  1. My True Identity: I am God’s chosen child.

Ephesians 1:4-5  (NLT)

Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.

2. The Benefits of Believing This Truth:

  • I am wanted by God
  • I am loved by God
  • I am secure in God’s family
  • My worth is based on what the most important person in the universe says is true of me—GOD!

Your worth isn’t based on who abandoned you, but who adopted you.

Next Steps: Renew my mind daily

  • Read Ephesians 1:4-5 every day
  • Pray a prayer based on this scripture:

Thank you Father for giving me a new identity in Christ. This is my true identity. Thank you for choosing me as your child because you wanted me. You love me and accept me and that is amazing to me. Jesus, you paid the price for my adoption by giving your own life, because of this I know how valuable I am to you. Thank you for bringing me into your family. Help me to be at peace  knowing my place in your family is secure forever.
